Study Guides for the TExES

Be wary of guides advertised on the web to help you prepare for the TExES.  Be aware that the people who produce these guides want to make money.

Pearson Education, the third-party that administers the TExES, has an Official Study Guide. This guide is produced by the Educational Testing Service, the producer of the test.  You can access the preparation manual by clicking on “TExES.”  In the pull-down menu, select “Preparation Materials.”  Scroll down to guide #231 for English/Language Arts and Reading Grades 7-12. 

When you take English 3389, you will also be given a study guide at the review session which has been written by professors in the English Department at Texas State.  Use these guides before investing in any other products, which may or may not be useful.
